SoWa Power Station

SoWa Power Station is a restored former power plant at 550 Harrison Avenue in Boston's South End. The official site places its opening as an event venue in 2021 and describes more than 30,000 square feet across two stories, retaining the property’s industrial structure as part of the setting.

The site publishes distinct capacities: the mezzanine is listed at 125 seated or 250 for a reception, while the main floor is listed at 1,050 seated or 1,500 for a reception. It also notes that larger events may require permitting and approvals. Those figures should be read as space configurations rather than a single wedding headcount.

SoWa says it holds the liquor license and manages bar service in-house. For food, it works with a curated list of Boston-area caterers. That makes the permitted catering roster and the final layout especially relevant before reserving the venue. The public materials reviewed do not publish a universal wedding price, a specific rain-plan policy, or a single standard event configuration.
